Tucked up in the northwest corner of Montana, the Flathead Valley rivals the world’s best in residential and resort living. No other area can offer the combination of skiing, fishing, hiking, golfing, boating, rafting and other outdoor activities found here. And being fairly remote, it’s still unpopulated and unspoiled. The wildlife are plentiful and the people friendly (particularly the folks at Trails West Eagle Bend Realty, your local Flathead Valley Realtors).
Kalispell, Bigfork, Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Lakeside are the main communities in the Flathead Valley. Each is inviting in its own unique way. Bigfork and Lakeside are located right on the shores of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. Sprawled along a majestic mountain range, it has over 180 miles of beautiful shoreline with many attractive lakefront properties available.
To the north is another spectacular natural wonder – Glacier National Park. Many consider it to be America’s most magnificent and awe-inspiring national park. In an hour, you can be high up on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, or deep in a forested ravine hiking to a Glacier backcountry lodge. Just south of Glacier Park, the vast Bob Marshall Wilderness offers world-class fishing and trophy hunting. The Flathead Valley has some of the finest recreational waters flowing anywhere on the planet. The fish are not only numerous, but ravenous.
Do you like to ski? If so, you’ll love the Blacktail Mountain Ski Area in Lakeside and the Big Mountain Ski & Summer Resort in Whitefish (rated one of the top ski areas in the nation). How about golf? You can play to your heart’s content here on some of the finest courses in the west, according to Golf Digest. As you’ll see, the land and real estate here is as attractive as it gets.
Does it get cold up here in Montana? Sure (you have a coat don’t you?). But it seldom gets really cold. Think temperatures in the 20s. With an elevation of 3,000 feet and mountain ranges to block the wind, our climate is surprisingly mild. It’s a cozy place. Winters are snowy and comfortable, summers are sunny and warm, but not hot or humid. Spring and Fall? Simply glorious.
Aside from its natural beauty, the Flathead Valley is also known for its fine restaurants, galleries, shops, cultural attractions and year-round festivals. There’s always something going on. What’s more, schools are excellent and medical facilities are first-class.
We could go on and on about the advantages of this area. Better yet, we could give you a tour. There are many ways to get here and we can help you make travel plans if needed. Come experience Flathead Valley for yourself. You’ll find like many others have, there is no place like it on earth!
